WAYS TO GIVE

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that he has given you.

DEUTERONOMY 16:17

TALK TO GOD

Take time to pray for the project: that we only ever seek God's will and plan for his church, for unity among our body, and that we continue to be good stewards of all the gifts and resources that God has given us.

Whether you are a new Christian or have been walking with God for many years, he has a role he wants you to play in this great opportunity to advance his kingdom. By making your decision a matter of serious prayer, you will be able to determine both his will and your role. Pray that God will give you specific direction and wisdom as to how you should answer his call.

TALK TO YOUR SPOUSE

If you are married, pray with your spouse. It is crucial that the two of you agree on the part you should play in this campaign. While partners often start at different places when it comes to financial investments, talking and praying together almost always brings clarity and agreement. For some couples, giving can be a great step of faith you take together that will result in a stronger, healthier family.

TALK TO A FINANCIAL ADVISOR

It can be helpful to talk to a financial advisor, particularly if you are unsure what form your gift should take. Your advisor will be able to suggest creative ways to maximize your specific gift. Remember, these gifts need to be over and above your regular giving in order to maintain the health of our current ministry. The emphasis is on the stewardship of our resources, on making investments in the eternal, and on the principle of equal sacrifice, not equal gifts.

  • CASH GIFTS may be made from savings or from current income. Paid up whole life insurance policies may also be given to the ministry campaign.

  • GIFTS OF STOCK can be a desirable way to give, particularly in markets that have caused significant growth of investment. By giving a gift of stock, the giver may actually avoid capital gains tax on the investment growth. Please consult a qualified tax professional to discuss how this category may be beneficial to you.

  • GIFTS OF PROPERTY such as land or rental property may be made to the campaign. By giving a gift of property, the giver may avoid capital gains tax. Please consult a qualified tax professional to discuss how this category may be beneficial to you.

  • MUTUAL FUND SHARES can be transferred to the church, and may avoid capital gains. Please consult a qualified tax professional to discuss how this category may be beneficial to you.
